Grand County Fishing Report Week of 5/25/26

The holiday weekend was busy with full parking lots at the open boat ramps. Weather has remained a mixed bag as still seeing a little bit of everything, but we will take any water we can get this year! Water level and lake temperatures are rising, fishing has remained good. The best fishing action has been for lake trout with Lake Granby being the star of the show. Hope to see you on the water!

Grand Lake - Boat ramp hours will be 6am to 8pm. Water temperatures are in the upper 40’s to low 50’s. Fishing for all species has been good. Rainbow trout and brown are most active along the shorelines and inlet areas. Small tubes or a silver/blue colored Kastmaster spoon are good lure choices. Lake trout are active in the 25 to 50 foot depths, A 3/8 ounce glow colored jig head with a contrasting colored grub body tipped with sucker worked close to the bottom will produce bites.

Williams Fork Reservoir - Boat ramps will remain closed for the season due to low water levels. Non-motorized hand launched boats are allowed. Water level is rising and is at 52%. Shore fishing has been good for northern pike, brown trout and occasional lake trout. Working two inch to four inch green pumpkin colored tubes with a slow retrieve along the bottom has been a consistent pattern.

Lake Granby- Stillwater boat ramp is open 6 am to 8 pm. Water level is rising at 29 feet below full with water temperatures in the low 50’s in the morning warming to mid 50’s by the afternoon. Fishing has been good for all species. Brown trout and rainbow trout are active along the rocky shorelines, Various jerkbaits, small tubes and orange colored spoons are good lure choices. Best lake trout action is in 25 to 60 feet of water. Dark green colored tubes tipped with sucker worked very tight to the bottom has been most consistent pattern.
