Grand County Fishing Report Week of 10/13/25

Fall fishing is here and in full swing! Water temperature is dropping and the fish are active and feeding. This is a great time to get out on the water, catch a few fish for dinner or just be out and enjoy fall time in Grand County. Don’t miss out, book a trip or load up your gear and enjoy some of the best fishing of the year.

Grand Lake - Boat ramp hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fishing for all species has been good. Rainbow trout and brown trout are active along the rocky shorelines and inlet areas. Target them with 3 inch crankbaits and silver colored spoons like a Kastmaster or Acme Little Cleo spoon. Look for the best lake trout action in 15 to 40 feet of water. Spoons have been the most productive lures, vertically jig them and tip with a spoon. Chartreuse or glow colored Patterson Plane Jane spoons, Clam Leech Flutter Spoons and other slab style spoons.

Williams Fork Reservoir - Boat ramp will be closing on 10/17/25 for the season. Fishing has been fair for pike in the shallow bays and steep drop offs as they feed heavily preparing for winter. Three inch swimbaits that are rainbow trout colored or white worked with a slow steady retrieve has been producing. Please practice catch and release pike in this body of water as population is in decline. Lake trout action has been fair and picking up as the water cools, look for them in 25 to 50 feet of water. White tube jigs and glow grubs worked gently on the bottom in rocky areas of lake has been a productive pattern for us this fall.

Wolford Mountain Reservoir - Boat ramp will be closing 10/15/25. Fishing has been good for rainbow trout, brown trout and kokanee along the shorelines. Bright pink and white colored spoons or tube jigs worked with a steady retrieve have been go to presentations.

Lake Granby - Stillwater boat ramp hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Water level is at 82% or approximately 14 feet below full. Fishing for all species has been good. Rainbow trout and brown trout are active around the creek inlets and rocky shorelines. Target them with bright colored spoons such as a Mepps Syclops, or Kastmaster. Lake trout action has been best in 20 to 45 feet of water with rocky bottom. Spoons, blade baits and two to three inch plastics tipped with sucker are producing bites. Have an assortment of colors as it seems to change as the day goes along, chartreuse, glow and white have been most productive.
