Grand Lake - Boat ramp hours are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Water temperatures have been in the low to mid 50’s. Fishing for all species has been very good. Target rainbow trout around the town docks and inlet areas with silver Kastmaster’s, Mepp’s spinners with silver blade or tungsten bead wooly bugger in green or brown. Best action on the lake right now is brown trout, target them along the rocky shorelines with bright colored spoons or jerkbaits. Look for lake trout in the 25 to 40 feet water range. The best lures we have found have been brown and green 2 inch tubes tipped with fresh sucker meat. Use your electronics to locate the fish, they are spread out but once you find them they have been eager to bite. Fishing with Bernie guide - Dan Shannon
Williams Forkn Reservoir - The east boat ramp hours are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. The water level is 83%, around 12 feet low. Inflow is 282cfs, out flow is 40cfs. The lake is still clear of surface debris and water clarity is good with baits dropping out of sight between 10 to 12 feet down. Early morning surface temperature is running 51 degrees warming to 57 degrees on sunny days. The lake trout bite is fair at best, in part due to a recent deep-water midge hatch. This past week I saw an average of 7 fish per rod over a six hour trip. Our most productive depth was 40 to 45 feet using small plastics tipped with sucker meat and sprayed with scent. Lakers found on the bottom seem to like a very slow finesse subtle presentation while fish moving in the water column respond to a more aggressive presentation. Northern pike is slow as the population is declining. Please help save the resource for other anglers and return them to the water. Rainbow trout and kokanee salmon haven't been stocked for several years so it's doubtful there's any catchable fish in the lake. Fishing with Bernie Guide - Randy Hall
Lake Granby - Boat ramp hours are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Water level is at 82% or approximately 14 feet below full. Fishing has remained very good this past week for all species. Look for rainbow and brown trout along the shorelines in less than ten feet of water. Rainbow trout will concentrate in the inlet areas where the water is moving, and brown trout will be found along the rocky shorelines. The best action for both species will be the low light periods of the day, sunrise and sunset. We have been finding the best lake trout bite in 30 to 45 feet of water in the areas of lake with a muddy bottom. Green and brown 2 inch tubes tipped with sucker has been the most consistent, but glow grubs or a glow jig head have been a good change of pace lure as well when the bite slows.
