7-1-19 Middle Park fishing report

Here is your Middle Park fishing report for the week of 7-1-19. Have a safe and happy 4th of July.

Lake Granby: Temps 56 degrees. Rainbows are still hitting spoons, power bait and worms early and late in the day. Browns are still cruising the shorelines, minnow and crawdad patterns seem to work best. Lake trout are being caught at 30-100' of water. Tube jigs tipped with sucker meat are working for the jiggers. Trollers are doing well with spoons.

Grand Lake: Temps 48 degrees. Rainbows and browns are active early and late in the day. Casting lures around running water or close to the bank is your best bet. Lake trout are scattered throughout the depths. Tubes and spoons tipped with sucker meat will get strikes.

Williams Fork: Surface temp is still running 56 to 57 early AM climbing to 60 on a sunny day. Water capacity is 98%. Water clarity is 10' - 15' in the main body. Spring run off is bringing lots of debris into the lake. Keep any eye out for logs and branches. Lake trout bite is good one day slower the next. We are catching all age groups in 50 to 90' on grubs or tubes tipped with sucker meat. The fish are scattered, keep an eye on your sonar for suspended fish and fish parked on the bottom. Kokanee trolling is slow at best. Rainbow fishing is good with bait or casting hardware. Best times are early and late in the day. We are starting to see the Northern's picking up especially on windy days. Casting shallow running baits to the shore is producing some strikes. 6-24Middle Park fishing report

Here is your Middle Park fishing report for the week of 6-24-19. The snow cooled things down AGAIN, which does affect the fish.

Grand lake: 45-48 degrees depending on the time of day. All inlets are flushing in a lot of very slightly stained, cold water. Afternoon storms are definitely playing a factor in the water temp as well. Fishing remains pretty decent. Brown and rainbow trout are being caught casting the shallows early in the morning and around the inlets. Minnow type baits and hardware is getting the majority of the action. Lake trout fishing have been hit or miss. Some days are producing and other days seem to be a bit slower. The water temp is playing the biggest factor on how the bite will be day to day. Williams Fork Fishing Report: Surface temp is 56 - 57 in the early AM reaching close to 60 on a sunny day. Water capacity is 96%. Water clarity is 10 - 15' in the main body. Run off has the inlet very stained, and is bringing debris onto the lake. The Lake Trout bite for all age groups remains good in 45 to 80' on grubs or tubes tipped with sucker meat fished on or above the bottom. Kokanee trolling is pretty much non existent due to low population. Rainbows are being caught lake wide with bait or casting small spinners. The inlet is especially good on Rainbows where the river meets the lake. Northern Pike can be caught in the bays before they move shallow to sun. Lake Granby: Temp 56 degrees, Rainbow fishing is very good from the bank. Power bait and worms are getting lots of fish. Trollers are doing well with small spoons, flies and small crank baits. A few browns are still being g caught early and late in the day around shoreline structure. Lake trout are in depths of 30-100' of water. Tube jigs tipped with sucker meat. spoons and a variety of other jigs are producing. They key is finding active fish. Keep moving till you get bit.

6-17-19 Middle Park fishing report

Lake Granby: As of today the lake is 15' low and rising 3/4' a day. Temps are 56 in the mornings. There are still a few suckers and lots of rainbows in the inlets. Worms will catch both species. Shoreline fishing for rainbows is good with Power Bait, worms, Flies, spinners and spoons. Brown trout are still hitting crank baits cast near the rocks along the shorelines. Lake trout will continue their travels to deeper water. Spoons, tube jigs, hair jigs and various grubs tipped with sucker meat are all working, try 30-80 feet of water.

Grand Lake: Rainbows are fishing very well by any flowing water, worms, spinners or flies are all producing fish. Browns are hitting crank baits or tubes cast up to the rocks along the shorelines. Lake trout fishing is very good, try tubes or spoons tipped with sucker meat.

Williams Fork Fishing Report: Surface temp is 55 early AM warming to near 60 on a sunny day. Water clarity is 10 -15' in the main body. Run off is beginning to cloud the water and bring debris into the lake. Keep an eye out for logs on the lake. Water capacity is 93%. Lake trout bite is fair to good in-spite of recent heavy pressure. Large and small Lakers are hitting grubs or tubes tipped with sucker meat in 40 - 80 foot. Kokanee trolling is very slow. A few Northern's are being caught in the bays and edges of the lake. 6-10 Middle Park fishing report

Here is your middle park fishing report for the week of 5-10-19. Boat ramp hours are 6am-8pm.

Williams Fork Fishing Report: Water capacity is at 87%. Water clarity is 10 - 15'.  Spring run off has begun. Keep any eye out for floating debris. Main body surface temp has jumped to 54 at 6AM warming to 60 on sunny days. Coves on the west side are running much warmer than the main body which is bringing the Northern's in to sun. A few Northern's are being caught on jerk baits. Lake trout jigging remains good for both large and small laker's in 40 to 80 foot. Grubs and tubes tipped with sucker meat is producing hits. Trolling for laker's is slowing as the fish are moving to deeper water. Shore fishermen bottom fishing are catching Rainbows lake wide with worms or Power bait. Grand lake: Brown trout fishing is good early and late in the day. Casting lures to the bank should get bit. Rainbows are still hanging around the inlets, small jigs and worms have been producing limits lately. Lake trout are eating small jigs tipped with sucker meat in 30-60 feet of water.

Lake Granby: Rainbow fishing is excellent around the shorelines. Lures early in the morning then bait as the day progresses seem to be working very well. Brown trout has slowed a little this week, the warmer water temps are to blame. Lake trout have started their slow descent into the depths. Fishing is very good with various spoons and jigs tipped with sucker meat in 30-80 feet of water.

6-3-19 Middle Park fishing report

Williams Fork: Surface temp is 47 at 6AM warming to 49 by days end. With the recent sunshine the shallow bays on the west end are warming to 59 by days end. Water capacity is 83%. Water clarity is about 10'. Lake Trout fishing remains excellent. Trollers are catching from just under surface in early AM, down to 60 foot later in the day. Bottom jigging in 30 to 70 foot with rubber grubs or tubes tipped with sucker meat is producing hits all day long. The fish are scattered, so frequent moves are in order. The large lake trout bite has been good in recent days. Fish have the potential to be anywhere from 20 to 60 feet of water around structure. Large tubes and swimbaits have been producing most of the bites from larger fish. Rainbows are hitting small spinners and spoons in the inlet. Shore fisherman bottom fishing for Rainbows with worms or Power Bait are catching fish lake wide. Randy H and Sam H teamed up for this report.  

Grand Lake: Water temp 48 to 50 degrees. The bite for browns and rainbows has been good around the inlets and on shallow flats. small jerekbaits and spinners have been producing most of the fish. Lake Granby: water temps are warming to 50 degrees. The lake trout will be. moving out of the shallows as the water warms. Fishing for everything has been excellent. Lake trout have been eating Bio-bait tubes tipped with sucker meat in 20-80 feet of water. Trollers are doing well with spoons and minnow style baits. Rainbows and suckers are in the inlets, worms are getting lots of bites. Browns are still in the rocks eating Minnow and crawdad baits early and late in the day.

5-27-19 weekly Middle park fishing report

Williams Fork Fishing Report, Surface temp is 46 warming to 47 by days end. Water capacity is 79%. With the delayed run off water clarity is still excellent. Ramp hours are 6AM to 8PM daily. Trollers are picking up Lake Trout from just under surface down to 30 foot. Bottom jigging in 30 to 70 foot of water with rubber grubs tipped with sucker meat is producing limits, as is moving around looking for suspended/swimming fish and dropping down to them. Lake Trout are scattered, paying close attention to your electronics and patience is the key. Rainbows are hitting small spinners and spoons in the inlet.    Grand Lake and Granby, Water temps 47, Casting lures to the shorelines early and late in the day can produce excellent brown trout fishing. Worms and power bait around the inlets has been excellent for rainbows. Lake trout have been caught in 4'-100' of water. Casting lures shallow has been very good. Jigging and trolling has also been very productive.

5-20-19 Middle park fishing report

Here is your middle park fishing report for the week of 5-20-19. Boat ramp hours are 6 am to 8 pm. 

Williams Fork Fishing Report, Surface temp is 46. Water capacity is at 76%.  Water clarity is excellent. Ramp hours are from 6AM to 8PM. Casting shallow water for Lake Trout on our last trip was slow. Trollers are catching Lake Trout in the AM in the upper part of the water column. Jigging for Lake Trout with spoons & rubber grubs tipped with sucker meat has been very good in 30 to 70 foot of water. Shore fishermen are catching Rainbows casting spoons & spinners. Grand lake, Temp 46, Rainbows are biting small spoons, worms, powerboat and small crank baits around the inlet areas. Browns are eating crank baits and jigs cast to shore. Lake trout are eating jigs tipped with sucker meat and crank baits.

Lake Granby, temp 46, Rainbows are being caught near any flowing water. Small spoons, worms, powerbait are all working well. Browns are being caught along the shorelines with jigs and crank baits. Lake trout are being caught with jigs, spoons, bait and crank baits.

5-15-19 Middle park fishing report

Here is your middle park fishing report for the week of 5-15-19. All the ice is off our larger reservoirs, the high country is still froze up. All the lakes are fishing very well along the shorelines. Drifting worms in the inlet currents will produce rainbows as well as suckers. Browns can't refuse minnow baits along the rocks early and late in the day. Spoons fished deeper during sunny days will produce a mixed bag of fish. In deeper water the lake trout fishing is awesome, tubes with sucker meat has been producing large numbers.

Stillwater boat ramp is open on Lake Granby from 6 am-8pm. Grand Lake and Shadow Mountain are scheduled to open May 17th. Williams Fork is open from 6-8 also.

Middle Park Fishing report for the week of4-30-19

Here is your middle park fishing report for the week of 4-30-19. The ice is either off the larger reservoirs or very close to coming off. Fishing should be excellent along the shorelines for everything. Suckers and rainbows will be in the creeks, worms on the bottom will be an excellent choice for both species.Tiny doll flies under bobbers will catch rainbow, a little chop helps move the jig. Brown trout will be eating minnow and crawdad style baits near rock piles. Lake trout will be eating minnow, small fish and crawdad style baits. 

As of April 30th Williams fork is ice free and the ramp is scheduled to open May 11th. Grand Lake and Shadow Mountain are scheduled to open May 17th. Lake Granby is scheduled for May 17th, but they will open the gates as soon as the ice comes off.

Middle Park fishing report 3-11-19

Here is your middle park report for the week of 3-11-19-19 The ice is reaching over 20" on a lot of our lakes up here. We did get a lot of snow on the lakes, slush is a problem again, but is starting to crust over. A big storm is supposed to hit tomorrow, so we will see how it goes.Williams Fork, The bite for the 12 - 17'' lake trout has remained constant with most of the action coming between sunrise until noon. Small spoons and plastics (single tail grubs, flukes, tubes) under 3 inches jigged in 40 to 80 feet of water have been producing fish. Pike are be seen by fisherman sight fishing in huts cruising in shallow water (10' or less). Rainbows remain active in shallow water (10 feet or less) from sunrise until about 8:30. Look for shallow flats in front of or around large bays to find the highest concentration of rainbows. Recent heavy snowfall has left most of the lake very slushy, some spots may have 6'' to 1' of water on top of the ice. To book a trip call Sam at (720) 666-0141 to book with Jake ‭(303) 434-8468‬.

Grand Lake, The slush is very bad but the surface is starting to crust over. Due to the slush we have not fished Grand Lake last week.

Lake Granby also has a slush problem. The rainbows are starting to spawn in the rivers and along the shorelines. Small bright colored jigs in less than 10' of water should produce fish. Lake trout are suspending over deeper water. White biobait twister tails on 3/8 oz heads are accounting for a good number of these fish. Jigging tubes on the bottom is also catching fish.
