With ice fishing season right around the corner, hardwater warriors across the Ice Belt are gearing up for the season ahead.

Not much has changed this week, the fall bite is at its peak.  The lake trout have moved shallow, small tubes, power bait twister tails and white gulp minnows have been producing very well.

The browns are chasing streamers and minnow type crank baits in the evenings and after dark. Low light hours have produced some very nice fish lately.

Streamer action on the rivers is getting better by the week. Lake trout in Granby are getting ready to spawn. Granby has been fishing well for lake trout in 60-80 feet of water.

Throughout the Rocky Mountain region, October brings thoughts of spawning lake trout. However, Colorado guide, Bernie Keefe actually prefers to direct the conversation elsewhere.

During this season,
